Jo Pinko is an Intern at Verdant Associates with experience in data analytics, mathematical modeling, programming, and statistical analysis. During their time in university research positions, they have explored how behavior affects disease dynamics, how climate change and temperature affects vector-borne diseases, and how to generate species life history data from incomplete data sets for climate-threatened data-deficient species for conservation efforts. Jo strongly identifies as an environmentalist and is excited to be working on climate change solutions.

Jo received a B.S. in Computational and Systems Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics (Minor in Math) from the University of California, Los Angeles. When not at work, they enjoy getting outside, going to the gym, and enjoying what San Diego has to offer. If spotted indoors, they may be seen playing videogames with friends or relaxing watching a show.

At Verdant Associates, our people are our strength.

We are economists, data scientists, engineers, and social scientists. But more importantly, we are bikers, swimmers, skiers, hikers, and parents. We seek to leave the world a better place than when we found it by working tirelessly to solve the pressing climate change issues that will define this generation.
