Collin Elliot is a Senior Principal Consultant at Verdant Associates. He has worked for nearly 20 years as a consultant for energy utilities and other industries in a broad range of technical and analytical areas. Collin has had several areas of emphasis over career, from estimation of energy efficiency potential to forecasting to more traditional energy efficiency evaluation. A major priority in Collin’s work has been the development of reusable code and applications, from end use models to large-scale econometric time series forecasting tools. His most recent work has emphasized the development of analytical tools to produce circuit-level disaggregate load forecasts for use in grid modernization efforts. Collin has also been the primary architect in the development of analytical data platforms for several financial services companies. This experience covered database design and implementation, as well as the creation of automated routines to both populate the databases and make use of the data for predictive modeling and reporting functions.
Collin holds a M.A. in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in Sociology and History from the University of Oregon. Collin primarily lives in Portland, Oregon, but goes to great lengths to spend at least the winter months in Costa Rica.
